Understanding the Parts of Medicare

Medicare Part A helps cover hospital care, skilled nursing facility care, hospice care, and some home health services.

Medicare Part B helps cover doctor visits, preventive care, outpatient services, lab work, x-rays, durable medical equipment, ambulance services, and other medically necessary care.

Medicare Part C, also known as Medicare Advantage, is offered through private insurance companies and combines your Part A and Part B coverage. Many plans may also include prescription drug coverage and additional benefits.

Medicare Part D helps cover prescription medications and is offered through private insurance companies.

Medicare Supplement Insurance, also called Medigap, helps pay some of the costs Original Medicare does not cover, such as copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles.

Common Medicare questions we help answer:

When should I enroll?
Should I keep my employer plan?
What is the difference between a Supplement and Advantage plan?
Are my doctors covered?
Are my prescriptions covered?
What will my monthly costs look like?
